Brian O’Leary

Brian has been recreating outside as long as he can remember. He found climbing in high school, and life since has been a series of steps to get further into the outdoor Industry.

He first worked at a few outdoor gear stores, and a climbing gym and then moved to working as a Mountain Guide for Acadia Mountain Guides, where he spent 5 years honing his skills.

When the time came to get a "real job" he looked at all the big outdoor companies, nobody hired him (looking at you Black Diamond). He found himself working as a Mechanical Engineer in Boston, climbing a ton, but still longing to get back into the outdoor industry. A chance encounter with Treadwall Fitness landed him a dream job designing the big rotating climbing walls (basically a treadmill for rock climbing.) Around the same time he starter working as a Tech Rep for for a sales agency in the North East specializing in climbing shoes.

During COVID Brian made a career switch to Cyber Security. The new job has given him the ability to start a company (Forecast Equipment) with two of his closest friends where they design and build ice tools in New England.

Because of his obvious conflict of interest, we'll keep him away from the Ice tool reviews!
